"Spotlighting Amos Wyse and A GiveAway

Bio:
I am a semi-retired man who is happiest with some sort of dirt on my hands. I have an amazing wife, five sons and a pair of Labradors keeping me on my toes. I spent the summers of my youth in a small town in the Midwest. Much of the Barnville Stories come from people and places I knew then and keep dear to me now. One of the fondest memories I have from that time includes my grandmother reminding me to wave at passing trains “so that people know we are a friendly town.” We need more of that today.

Book Spotlight
Enjoy all five books of An Amish Life series now in one single author collection. Amish Stories from Barnville, Pennsylvania, Population 1300.

Contains:

Book 1, Planting Seeds: Caleb Fisher and his family welcome the new neighbors to their community. When a misunderstanding takes all of the quiet out of his peaceful life, he begins to wonder what type of seeds he has sown. Is the red-headed Ruby a gift from God or a thorny weed in his garden?

Book 2, Pulling Weeds: Caleb Fisher's "interchangeable" twin sisters, Emma and Lizzie, are up to their old tricks. When their prank backfires, in the worst possible way, can Caleb sort out his sisters and their suitors?

Book 3, A Harvest of Brides: Caleb and Ruby's big day is approaching quickly. However, this courting season, his sisters' find that their path towards marriage is not so smooth. Along with usual wedding preparations, Caleb is distracted. What is the secret his father is keeping?

Book 4, Forging Friendships: Sometimes the best way to see where we're headed is to consider where we have been. This is the story of Otto Lapp and how God uses imperfect men in His perfect plan.

Book 5, Building a Future: After wedding season excitement, the couples settle down to the challenges of newly married life. While the households are being set up, Ruby has concerns, and Naomi feels some
growing pains of her own.

Interview

What pushed you into writing?
I have been telling stories my whole life. Many involved the memories of people I knew and the values they held dearMy wife, Laura J. Marshall, has been after me for years to write one down. When she offered to co-write with me, I ran out of excuses. “Planting Seeds” was that story. She then had me continue Caleb and Ruby’s story for another four shorts. I am in her debt for believing in me.

What is Next?
We just released the sixth story revolving around the town of my youth renamed “Barnville” for these stories. We are currently shopping a bit different book to publishers. This new work would not be a Barnville story, but I think we can expect to hear more from Hannah, the Amish Shop Girl, as well.

I had not heard of your books before, but they do sound interesting. I also grew up in northern Ohio, and visited some Amish homes and stores after my sister and her family started driving taxi for the Amish. I enjoy reading books about the Amish, because I admire their work ethic and their dedication to God, family, and community.
