"Devotion" by Marianne Evans is a 5 stars book. I would give this story more than 5 if I could. This story had me captivated from page 1. Even through it was fiction it could have been written about a real life couple and a troubled marriage. This story teaches us that just because we are God's children we are not safe from temptation and that we need to be aware that only listening to His voice will save us.
Kellen Rossiter was a married man and a Christian and a successful business man. He had A-lists clients in the music industry. His wife Juliet had the perfect life and was able to spend time and money helping the underprivileged. But their life wasn't what it seemed. They both spend time perusing their own interests. Then one fateful night Kellen wants Juliet to go to meet a client with him but she refused and Kellen meets Chloe. The attraction is felt by both Chloe and Kellen and Kellen ignores all the whispers in his soul by God till one day he makes a terrible mistake and Juliet learns about it at a big party for her grand opening of a center for the underprivileged. They have been married for 9 years and their biggest dream is starting a family and Juliet founds out she is pregnant about the time she learns of Kellen's betrayal. How can Juliet forgive Kellen and learn to trust him again? But then again is it all Kellen's fault or must Juliet bear some of the blame for the weakened state of their marriage? I believe this book is one that could be read time and time again to get points on how to keep your own marriages from being in such a state as it teaches Biblical points from different Scriptures! This book is one that I would recommend and if I am invited to a bridal shower and the bride-to be likes to read this book might be one of the presents in her bag of gifts from me. Yes I loved the story that well.
I received this book from www.bookfun.org to read and post my honest opinion.
