About the Book                                                       Book: Murder on the MOOR, A Drew  Farthering Mystery

Author: Julianna Deering

Genre: Historical Mystery

Release Date: February 2017

At the urgent request of an old school friend, Drew and Madeline Farthering come to Bloodworth Park Lodge in the midst of the Yorkshire moors, a place as moody and mysterious as a Brontë hero. There have been several worrisome incidents around those lonesome rolling hills–property desecrated, fires started, sheep and cattle scattered. Worst of all, the vicar has been found dead on the steps of the church, a crime for which Drew can discern no motive at all.

Few in the town of Bunting’s Nest seem like suspects, and Drew can’t keep his suspicions from falling on his friend’s new bride. Do her affections lie more with her husband’s money and estate, while her romantic interests stray to their fiery Welsh gamekeeper? As the danger grows ever closer, it’s up to Drew to look past his own prejudices, determine what’s really going on, and find the killer before it’s too late.

My Review:

"Murder on the MOOR" by Julianna Deering is the fifth book in the "A Drew Farthering Mystery Book " series. Even though this book is the fifth in the series, it is a book that can be read out of order and still be enjoyed but yes I did  read the other 4th first, admit it if you have read my other reviews you knew I was going to say that, right!

I think "Murder on the MOOR" was the saddest of the five because of the theme, yes I know they all deal with murder and betrayal but the why the murders were being committed.

I have to say the ending was a surprise like all the other four but this ending completely have me saying "Wow, no clue at all".

I love how the author has the main character apologize to another character that he thought was guilty of the murders.   I think each story shows improvement in Drew's character , not necessarily his detective skills, yes I know he is a amateur detective and most readers probably want his detective and reasoning powers to increase but I like that his own personal character's skills are improving.

These books are Christian fiction and God is mentioned in a couple of sentences and in a few prayers by the main characters ( when they are in trouble)  in " Murder On The Moor" but I don't feel that the characters faith is shown in this book as much as they are in the other 4.  But, with that last statement made I need to stay that none of the books are preachy or that a reader has to be a Christian to enjoy them.

I hope there are going to be more books in this series.

I am giving "Murder On The Moor" five stars.

I was given a copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.
