"The Thief of Lanwyn Manor " by Sarah E Ladd is the second book in (The Cornwall Novels) series. 

,I believe it can be read as a stand alone. But I recommend that you read the first one as well, just because it was a great read as well.  I was drawn into the book from the beginning, I mean it starts out with someone holding a gun to Julia and then one of the brothers from the prologue rushes in to save her. Of course, they are older now.

This book was interesting to me because the setting was mines. My stepfather worked in a mine, so it fun to read about things that were part of my life. Yes, I know it isn't the same but you can relate to what I am saying, right ?  I like when authors includ history as part of the story without it reading like a history book. 

I recommend this book if you like clean love story mixed with a bit of mystery. 

If a third book is written in this series, I will be reading it.
