However, between a stubbornly stone walling supervisor, missing documents, and personal tragedy, Nicki faces challenges at every turn. Is she the best person to bring order – and longevity – to the place these children call home? Then, with the help of an unexpected ally, Nicki makes a life-altering decision that upends her well-planned life and the lives of those around her. Will she lose it all, or has she found the way to save what matters most?

"Perfectly Placed" by  Liana George is the second novel in the (Hopeful Hearts) series. As I always try to do (read books in a series in order)  I read the first book before reading "Perfectly Placed"and I really felt all the emotions such as happiness, laughter, sadness and yes even anger ( one character was hard to like.  I was thinking how can book 2 be better, but let me tell you it was.   The fist book had a few laugh out scenes and was kinda of comical while book 2 was more about struggle I ended up believing it to be better than the first. Yes, I think a reader would enjoy reading book 2 without reading the first one, I recommend reading it to get the full impact of what happens in the second book.

My heart rejoiced and wept in book books.

I truly recommend both books and and eagerly awaiting book 3.

I can honestly say that "Perfectly Placed" by Liana George is my Favorite Book this year so far and makes me glad I didn't give up reading because books made me more sad in my time of grieving. Yes, once again someone that isn't part of the actual story dies from a car wreck and yes I wanted to give up reading again but I'm so glad  God urged me to keep reading. I loved this quote from the book
“There are times, dear, when you can do things, and there are other times when you have to trust God to handle it, even when it doesn’t seem to make sense.” She pauses. “As hard as it may be to sit and wait on His provision, I think this is one of those circumstances in which we have no other choice.”
I guess I like it so much is because this is where I am in my life right now!

I received a complementary  copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

More from Liana

Have you ever eaten at a Chinese restaurant and taken a fortune cookie with you when you left? Yeah, me too. For the longest time, I always associated these Pac-Man shaped treats with Chinese food and by extension, Chinese culture.

I was wrong.

The tsujiura senbei,” or “fortune cracker,” actually originated in Japan and was brought over to the United States sometime between the late 1800s and early 1900s by immigrants. Japanese bakers first began selling and making these crackers in California and Hawaii. With their unique taste and finger-sized slip of paper printed with a pithy fortune or aphorism, they quickly became a hit.

Today, the fascination with these cookies is still at an all-time high, but the ingredients have changed. Originally, they were made with miso and sesame flavoring but now they use butter and vanilla to give it that sweet taste you and I are so familiar with.

So, why am I telling you all this?

Because my novel, Perfectly Placed, book 2 in The Hopeful Heart Series, begins with the main character, Nicki Mayfield, breaking into a fortune cookie and discovering a proverb that will motivate her and move her to action. What was written on that tiny slip of paper? There’s only one way to find out. Grab a copy of Perfectly Placed – and a cookie or two – and start reading!
