"Second Chances" by Shirley Quiring Mozena is a story of love and loss. It is also a story of faith and not giving up on God.  This book is a story of a women finding love twice and losing both to death.

Yes, I cried because I keep thinking about the last 5 days of mom's life and I felt the author's sense of loss but I also felt her peace about knowing where Bill and Blair were and that she would see them again. I know losing a husband isn't the same as losing a parent, but grief and loss is something we all experience.

At the end of the book, I was thinking I want to know more about what her life is like now and then I seen where she has written another book and I just have to get it.

This story has definitely shown me that we need to cherish every moment with our loved ones and to show love whenever we get a chance because life is really short and we never know when the chance to love someone is going to be our lasts.

I appreciate the author's honestly in telling her story and showing that even in the trials and heartaches of life, God is in the midst and never leaves us alone.

I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.

More from Shirley

They told me there was no hope. How could that be? I’d already lost one husband. Would I have to lose another? We’d had so little time!
Four years earlier—nearly to the day—my high school sweetheart and father of my two children had died. We’d gone through so many struggles. Our marriage was nearly broken. Through courage in facing our faults and selfishness, our marriage was restored. And then, after a six month battle with a terrible virus, my husband died.
I’d never dreamed I’d love again, but it happened. Sx months after our first date, we were married.  It seemed like we were still on our honeymoon when the next tragedy happened. Just like that, he was gone.
And then I knew the story needed to be told. For myself. For my children. For anyone who wanted to know. It’s a story of second chances in a restored marriage. In love. In hope for the future and God’s sustaining love and comfort. A story to strengthen your own soul.

I can't imagine the grief of losing one husband let alone two! It sounds like this book shows the hope in the midst of the darkness and her faith in the middle of the storm. I bet this would be a very encouraging read!

Thanks for your review and participation in the blog tour!
