"The Menu" by Steven Manchester Book Tour and GiveAway

About the Book

From New England’s Storyteller Steven Manchester comes a soul-awakening novel about love, faith and family. During Phinn Reed’s romantic quest, he discovers that even through great suffering and loss, he is never alone—not ever—and that we are all eternally connected.

Phinn Reed enters the world with God’s promise of finding his soul mate. With heaven’s memories erased, his romantic quest teaches him that the heart often sees clearer than the eyes—and that not everyone has ordered the same items from The Menu. This inspirational novel is heartfelt evidence that love stories come in many different forms.

"The Menu" by Steven Manchester is a good book but I do have a few issues with it. First, I will admit that I know the book is fiction. But, this book ends with all the people that has dies in this person life, I can't tell you who dies, that would be a spoiler alert, is in Heaven when this person gets there regardless of their lifestyle. I believe there has to be a turn from sin. There are at least 5 times that swear words are used and again that is my own preferences. I was surprised at all the drinking involved in this book, again I know my thoughts on drinking is not the same as others.

It seems to me the theme of the book is "Leave the world a better place than it was when you came into it. and to be Kind. I agreed with these two but I believe we need to do more than this. Yes, the book clearly points out that God is with us all the time. And yes, I recommend this book even with the issues that I have mentioned above with the warning that there is no mention of turning from sin to gain entrance into Heaven.  This book does deal with abortion and death and really real life and yes it brought tears to me a couple of times. I really liked the poems in this book and I am not a poetry lover at all. I find most poems hard to understand but I really wanted to share these poems with others and in fact I did read a few poems aloud to my sister who I am visiting this week.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

More from Steven

“None of us are ever alone.” I believe this truth in every fiber of my being. For me, few things are more tragic than a fellow human being who is feeling alone. It’s the reason I wrote my new novel, THE MENU.

The premise of THE MENU is a simple one. If you believe in an afterlife, do you also believe that your spirit existed before you came to this Earth? And what if you had a say…what if you actually picked everything you’d experience in this life from a MENU?
