"Canceled" by John Faubion is a book that I didn't like at all. I know it is rated as a thriller, but is also listed as in the Christian genre and there is only 5 pages if that many that has anything to do with Christianity. The rest of the book deals with evil and killing and saying the Bible isn't real.
I know most of the reviews are 4 and 5 stars but I'm giving it 1 star. I know that is cruel but I honestly cannot recommend this book. I was uncomfortable reading it. I kept thinking as a Christian how can I approve my unbelieving friends and my grandchildren reading this.  I have to say that the 5 pages that I did mention above was very good and I underline them, I liked how he used worldly examples to explain Christian principals.  If a reader reads this book than I say make sure to pay attention to chapter 27.

I received a complementary copy from the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.

Cancel Culture? This is worse.

All around us we see our culture changing, and not for the better. Sometimes it seems like all the voices we hear are filled with anger, hatred and intolerance.

There’s a reason for that:  They are all rooted (you guessed it) in anger, hatred and intolerance.

It was time to step back and look at what it’s like to be canceled, but from an entirely different source: The Supernatural.

The main character is a preacher, but one of those who does NOT believe in a supernatural god. He doesn’t know what he believes. But when he’s finally confronted with a supernatural experience he cannot deny, he finds that walking on the dark side is going to cost him his life.

The only solution, both for him and the one he falls in love with, is to know God, and get access to the supernatural weapons he never dreamed existed.

I would read this book knowing it is told from the viewpoint of a non-believer who would, of course. claim that the Bible is not true. Facing the reality of supernatural evil, he is forced to truly search for a “higher power” strong enough defeat this enemy. We readers, of course, know Who that Supreme Being is.
