My Review:
"An Unexpected Role" by Leslea Wahl is a book that is cataloged as a teen book but I loved it, and I am 59. It is a mystery that doesn't start out as a mystery. By this, I mean Josie's mom is an author and her previous books have been based on Josie's life and events. So naturally, when a new book is published, the kids in her school assume that the embarrassing scenes are true and are about her. To avoid the kids during summer, Josie goes to visit her aunt and finds herself playing Nancy Drew.

Josie is part of the theater class at school so there are a few references of musicals and songs which make the story that much more enjoyable.

Josie's learns life's lessons while she is visiting her aunt. She learns that first impressions aren't always right and she learns that helping others is more important than her reputation. She learns that we need to treat Jesus like a friend.

I recommend this book to all readers from young teens to adults.

I received a complimentary from the author and CWA. These opinions are my own
