My Review: 
"Delayed Justice" by Cara Putman is the third book in the "Hidden Justice" Series and I think it was my favorite. I think readers can enjoy this book even if they haven't read the other two. I do recommend reading them to get the full impact of the series and the background of Jaime's friends.

All of the books deal with subjects that are hard to think about but do take place in this world, such as drugs and murdering, spousal abuse, and in "Delayed Justice", the subject is childhood sexual abuse. The scenes are written without alot of graphic details. The actual killing is a little graphic but it only  a few words and then the story moves on, so your mind doesn't stay in the details.

I know this book is fiction but I think this book has "real life" lessons that we all can applied to our life, and especially a victim of childhood sexual abuse.

I am going to share some of the quotes I thought was so great to read and want to share with others that are survivors of sexual abuse. These are all written within the story line.
"You have a story. There are chapters to your life and some of them are horrible, but they are all chapters. It's up to you how much weight you give them and how long they last."
 and " God was always there, even when we couldn't see Him. When He seems most hidden, He is most present."
"She didn't have to walk with a pronounced limp of brokenness the rest of her life." All three books have Christian characters but "Delayed Justice" just goes deeper into the fact that God loves us and you have to have faith in Him.

I recommend this book and the others in this series if you like Legal Romantic Suspense and Beauty from Ashes stories. Even though this book is of the Christian genre, I believe that readers that normally don't read Christian fiction would enjoy these stories if they like suspense and lawyers and crime novels.

I don't know if there are more books coming to this series but I will be watching and if they come, you can bet I will be reading them. 

"Delayed Justice" is also a book about forgiveness and sometimes just knowing that others do the best they can with what they know and understand.

About the Author
Since the time she could read Nancy Drew, Cara has wanted to write mysteries. In 2005 she attended a book signing at her local Christian bookstore. The rest, as they say, was history. There she met a fellow Indiana writer Colleen Coble. With prompting from her husband, Cara shared her dream with Colleen. Since those infamous words, Cara’s been writing award-winning books. She is currently working on book 30 and 31. Cara Putman is an active member of ACFW, and currently serves on its Executive Board. She has also been the Indiana ACFW chapter president and served as the Area Coordinator for Indiana. Cara is also an attorney, lecturer at a Big Ten university, active in women’s ministry, and all around crazy woman. Crazy about God, her husband and her kids that is. Delayed Justice was a hard story to write. I’d known from Beyond Justice that Jaime had a hard story, but I wasn’t sure exactly what it was. She tried to hide from her past. She tried hard, but in the end it slowly spilled out. A young girl wounded deeply by someone who should protect her. And now as a professional young woman, Jaime is still fighting the shadows. She believes she’s okay, or as okay as she’ll ever be. Instead, she has to learn that there’s so much more waiting for her. Freedom from the chains of a past she didn’t choose. A love that will never end. And a God who has always loved her even when she questions His existence because of her past. I think we’ve all lived that. There’s a place in our hearts that seems beyond His reach. For some of us, it’s a barrier to knowing Him. To others of us, it makes us question what we thought we knew about God. And for others of us, it presses us deeply into Him. Jaime’s book, Delayed Justice, explores this space. The space where some days we scream at the heavens Where are you, God? And the days we just curl into ourselves because life is too hard. And in that space of shadow and light, God ultimately shines brightest.
