My Review
"Chosen People" by Robert Whitlow is a story about a young mother who sacrificed her life to save her daughter. It is also a story about terrorists and a lawyer that tries to find out if the attack was a lone act or part of a group. It is also a love story.
The scenes are written so very well that the reader knows the author knows his material. I really liked the descriptions of the area because I want to go to Jerusalem some day but I don't see that happening so I pretend I'm there when I'm reading books that are written as well as " Chosen People" is.
I have to say that I really loved that the little girl that was saved by her mother was named Sadie.
I like that the story wasn't just a story but it also lets the reader see into the character's hearts and feel the character's feelings.
I really thought I knew how it was going to play out between Sadie's father and Hana, the Arab lawyer, but I am happy to say I was wrong and the ending is much better then I have it going.
This story is really about the hatred of Jews and that God is keeping His promise to them and bringing them back to Israel.
In the story, Hana is reminded of the Scripture Isaiah 12:2 " Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, The Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation." She also was reminded that Daniel spent a night in the lion's den, Paul was whipped and beaten. She was reminded that sometimes God delivered people from danger and other times he was with them as they passed through it.
I recommend this book if you like a realistic novel about terrorist attacks and lawyers. I didn't want to put this book down untill the last page and then I wanted to keep reading more.
This was the first book that I have read by Robert Whitlow, but I can honesty say it will not be my last.
There was one scene while reading it that I thought ok I don't like this book but I am glad it wasn't the way it seemed at all. This scene just proved to me, that sometimes things aren't the way they appeared and you have to hold on and have faith that all things work for the good, yes even in fiction that is so real life.
