"The Pink Bonnet " by Liz Tolsma kept me turning the pages and not once did I wish the story would end.  I truly was caught up in this story from the beginning till the end.

I was surprised to learn  that this  fictional story was based on a real person, Georgia Tann, corrupt Memphis Tennessee Children’s Home Society director.   I am sadness by the fact that hundreds of children was kidnapped and never found, but I know this is still happening today.  My favorite people are children so when they are abused I'm heartbroken.

This story is a good story but also a sad one as children are abused and stolen. I am glad that the story also has a family that is really loving toward a child that they adopted, as it showed that all parents that adopt are not cruel. Yes, I know some are. I have four adopted grandson. So I think adoption is wonderful.

"The Pink Bonnet" is a fast paced read and full of action. There is violence and gun usage but no offensive language.

My favorite character is Percy Vance is because he risks losing everything to do the right thing.

I wish I could say that all ends well for each character and each child in this story but sadly that isn't the case. But then sometimes we have to face reality even in fiction.

I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are mine own.

The True Crime Behind the Story
Georgia Tann was a woman who ran an adoption agency in Memphis, Tennessee, from 1924 until 1950. It is estimated that, in that time, she kidnapped over five thousand children and sold them to the highest bidder. She even advertised the children in the newspaper, especially around the holidays. Some of the nation’s biggest celebrities adopted through Miss Tann, including Joan Crawford, Dick Powell, and June Allyson.
