I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I really that Lisette Pelletier had the courage to stand for what she believed was her calling from God.  There were a few scenes that I wasn't sure what was going to happened, but that kept me reading the book.  One scene was right at the beginning of the story.  And even through Lisette couldn't shoot a outlaw, she use another weapon which I thought was appropriate for a woman and a dr. Want to know what it was, Read the book!

I was impressed that Lisette helped her patients, not only as a doctor but she even helped a family do dishes and other chores. 

My favorite character is an older lady that is alone who befriends Pelletier and helps her to understand that love is worth it.

This is the first book in the series and I will be reading them all.
