Stephanie Landsem writes historical fiction because she loves adventure in far-off times and places. In real life, she’s explored ancient ruins, medieval castles, and majestic cathedrals around the world. Stephanie is equally happy at home in Minnesota with her husband, four children, and three fat cats. When she’s not writing, she’s feeding the ravenous horde, avoiding housework, and dreaming about her next adventure—whether it be in person or on the page.

I will start the questioning!
How did you get started writing Biblical fiction?
Thanks for having me on your blog, Debbie. And that is a good question. When I started writing seriously about six years ago, I knew I wanted to write historical fiction but I didn't even consider Biblical era. I started a few stories, but nothing really grabbed me until one Sunday not long before Easter, when I heard the gospel reading about the Samaritan woman at the well. I started wondering about her and by the time I left church, I knew that her story (or actually, her daughter's story) was what I wanted and needed to write.
