"The Joy Scrooge" by Paula Moldenhauer

Book Info:

Spunky pediatrician Krista Fjeld loved Tait Skroog for most of her life, but to him she was only the girl next door. When Tait and his young son, Timmy, move back to town, an asthma attack sends Timmy to the ER where Krista is working. Krista is shocked by the change in her old heart-throb. Embittered by his wife’s death, Tait is paralyzed by fear and grief. He is overprotective of his son, who he calls Tiny Tim. Krista longs to see Tait and his son free to move forward again, but getting involved means risking her heart to the very man who crushed it. Determined to fight for Tait and Timmy’s joy, Krista embodies the spirit of the Ghost of Christmas Past, reminding Tait of the passionate young man he once was. Will Krista convince him to embrace life—and her—or is the risk too great for everyone?

The Joy Scrooge is the second novella in the Tinseled Tidings collection. For more holiday fun check out the first book, You’re a Charmer, Mr. Grinch, and book three, Fruitcake Fallout.

My Review

"The Joy Scrooge"  by Paula Moldenhauer is just as good as the first novella in the "Tinseled Tidings collection".  I love the titles of this stories in this collection.  They fit the theme perfectly.

"The Joy Scrooge" is also about a second chance at love.

I think of the two tales that I have read in this collection, "The Joy Scrooge" is my favorite because of little Tim who is called Tiny Tim by his father.  The reason the title is perfect is because Tait Skroog is afraid to let Tiny Tim do anything because of his asthma and the fact that he is grieving his wife's death.

This novella has alot of spiritual truths in the pages without being preachy. Truths likes God is enough and how Jesus suffered and died for us. I love that this message is in a Christmas book.

My favorite quote of the book is "You can't marry an elf without excepting the whole North Pole to show up"!

I was given a complimentary copy by the author. These opinions are my own.

The Tinseled Tidings novella collection makes a great companion to the Soul Scents: Flourish Selections for Advent devotion. These light-hearted fiction books are most fun read in order, but each stands alone as well.
